Dry facts:
...in 1998 a couple of buddies came together, all of them interested in music - the kind of music that used to accompany many a banquet or ball in times long past. Medieval and Renaissance music ment to us an interesting and somehow very special musical style. The initiator and driving force behind the establishment of the band was Jiří Gabrhelík. However, he was not alone in his efforts; he was greatly helped by Daniel Kahuda, Filip Čejka and Radek Podehradský. The actual beginning was far from easy. A number of people came and went until the first more significant concert took place at the Orlík Castle near Humpolec in the summer of 1999. Unfortunately, soon afterward Jirka Gabrhelík left the band. On the other hand, a new member, Vašek Vopravil, joined. The next concert worth mentioning took place in November 1999 in the pub "U vojáka". A month later we started to play regularly in the Mediaeval pub "U sedmi Švábů".The mutual cooperation lasted until August 2000. It was here we first got the idea that dancing could add pleasant diversity to our concerts. That's why we asked the Gach le gach dancing group and rehearsed a couple of dances together (from Irish to historic ones). Later on (around March 2000), we were brought to the attention of several members of the Berounští Měšťané group who helped us significantly both in terms of musical composition and cooperation with dancing groups (Saltatio Vitae and Alegria). We had no clear-cut musical style or direction then, but concerts multiplied and so did the demands directed at the band… For a time the band played in the same composition, until, by the working of fortune, another member Anička Matlová joined at the beginning of 2001. In 2002 we finally started with the long-prepared and long-promised recording of our own CD. The recording was finished in November 2002 and the CD was release in January 2003. Currently our band consists of four members - Vašek Vopravil, Filip Čejka, Radek Podehradský and Anička Matlová... |
